5 Things to Do to Prep Your House for Sale This Fall in PEI

Okay, so we blinked and it’s already fall in Prince Edward Island! Beach days have turned into cooler temperatures, the kids are back in school, and routines are officially back in full swing.

With this time of year often comes a shift for many homeowners and that means thinking about what’s next for their home. If selling is on your radar this fall, getting a head start can make a big difference. In today’s PEI real estate market, a few simple steps can go a long way in helping your home stand out and make a great first impression.

Let’s walk through them:

1. Declutter

Get rid of anything that’s lingering. Pack away anything you don't use regularly. Less clutter makes rooms, closets, and storage spaces feel larger….and makes moving easier later!

2. Deep Clean

Focus on the details buyers notice. We’re talking nooks and crannies, windows, floors, baseboards, appliances and those often forgotten corners.

3. Refresh Your Curb Appeal

Tidy landscaping, clean the front door, sweep walkways, and add a simple fall planter. First impressions start before buyers enter the front door!

4. Stack Away Personal Items

Pack away personal photos, keepsakes, and excess décor to create a clean, neutral space that allows potential buyers to picture themselves living in the home.

5. Fix the Little Things

Take care of the projects you've been putting off like a dripping faucet, loose handle, burnt out light bulbs, scuffed wall, or squeaky door. Small details can influence how buyers perceive your home's condition

The best time to prepare is before you list and a little preparation can help your home show in its best light and stand out in the PEI real estate market.

If selling has been on your mind this fall, let’s chat and make a plan that works for you.

As always, I’m here to help!
